Latest NewsReception held for charity at Number 11 Downing StreetIn July, Brian Yeatman attended a reception at Number 11 Downing Street hosted by Rt Hon Harriet Harman MP, honouring one of his designated charities, SPW. A host of business leaders, including Chairmen and CEOs of FTSE 500 companies were invited to learn more about SPW. Harriet Harman said that she knew firsthand of the great work that SPW is doing in Sub-Saharan Africa, having just returned from visiting a programme there. The hope, she said, is that some of the companies here will consider sponsoring students or a group of students to go abroad and gain this life-changing experience. Mr Yeatman said, “I am very pleased that the Chancellor has been so kind to allow us the use of his drawing room. This has been a very successful event in that we are able to expose more people to the wonderful work of SPW. If nothing else, we ask them to continue the conversation with us about how they can help. A little support, either in terms of money or resources from within their organisation, really makes a difference.” |
